July 4, 2011 Dog River and Corner Gas
Oh, oh... another highway shot.
One of the yellow field.
And now!!! DOG RIVER. Phil had to stop here. Let me say that again. Phil HAD to stop here. Being the fanatic fan of Corner Gas this was a must.
2nd shot of the elevator (actual name of the town is Rouleau, SK)
Phil holding up the gas pump. The buildings on this corner are all boarded up and the windows are painted to look like windows. The paint is already beginning to chip and peal off.
Gas pumps again
Ruby's cafe.
Intersection at Dog River.
Corner of Highways at Corner Gas. (back side of the STOP sign).
Same intersection... different direction.
Back parking lot of the buildings for Corner Gas. The cables, etc. really amazed Phil (he's easily entertained).
The motorhome (Moose) parked in front of the gas station.
Dog River Police Department (complete with a sign stating it is not actually a police station). Phil purchased a new T-shirt.
The Foo Market (the 'd' in Food always fell off the sign). Please note: there is NO sign now!
Dog River Howler (the town newspaper) building.
Dog River Hotel. Now closed and does not appear used.
Phil... wanted for filming to begin (don't tell him it is going to be a long wait).

I almost feel I'm on the set. Will have an all new appreciation for Corner Gas and will pay more attention to the background.
So glad you stopped there and made another of your dreams come true. Can hardly wait to see pictures of your golfing and then some of Ontario.
