The highways on the prairies stretch on forever... a long looking ribbon going into the horizon.
Maple Creek, SK. Campground: Eagle Valley Park
Last year, at this time, most of this campground was under 20 ft of water. The highway, which runs beside it, was a complete washout. The westbound side is re-built, and the eastbound is still under construction. I wasn't quick enough with the camera, so did not get a picture of the on going works.
Phil enjoying his new chair, really needs that head shade, plus his hat, as during the packing of the containers he got a whooping sunburn on his head, which is now pealing!
The campsite are pull outs beside the roads...
Lots of green space to enjoy beside us and between the roadways.
Road side view.
This 20 minute storm began with thunder, never did see the lightening, but the thunder kept up for about 10 minutes continuously. Felt a few drops of rain and got insides. Next thing... coming down in buckets. There was rain, wind and hail. Brought the slides so the hail would not make any holes, some of it was the size of small marbles.
The is the swimming pool, which is under renos since the flooding last year. The water was almost to the top of the hill in the background.
Out side the pool area.
Phil in front of the fenced pool area.
Entrance to the pool.
Phil again...
The pool and tiki hut. Pool is in dire need of updates and reno. It is closed for now.
It basically looks like a dugout full of quite dirty water.

Love the highway shots, you can never seem to get enough and pictures don't really do them justice.
Too bad about the pool would have been nice to use it!
Keep up the good postings.
